Things have been incredibly busy around here, so I wanted to share a little update on all things at Knotty Creations.
I've made the decision to re-enter the full-time job world while continuing to run this business. For those of you who don't know my story, I initially started Knotty Creations because it was uncertain if I could ever hold a regular job due to my son's complex needs. He has a rare genetic disorder, autism, and a few other diagnoses that require a lot of appointments, therapies, and medical attention. I was too busy with all of his care to commit to a standard work schedule. So, I got creative, embraced my passion, and built this business to provide extra income and flexibility.
However, I've learned that starting a business in this creative industry requires an enormous amount of hard work and dedication with very little financial reward—especially in the beginning. With the current economy further challenging small businesses here in the U.S., I had to make a practical choice. Since my son's condition is currently in a stable place, I've decided to prioritize taking on a full-time job.
What Does This Mean for Knotty Creations?
Honestly, nothing major will change. You might notice it takes me a little longer to create new collections and keep up with restocking the store and website. However, I am still absolutely dedicated to this business. I'll be using every moment of my free time to showcase my passion and creativity for you to wear and enjoy!
Speaking of the store, I'm already getting a head start on my Christmas collections! I'll be rolling out some festive new earring collections and am currently playing around with introducing bookmarks, ornaments, and keychains to the holiday lineup.
